Ms Alaa AlAttili has an MSc. in Computer Science and with around 20 years of experience in higher education. She has been working as a lecturer in different higher education institutions along with being involved in quality assurance and enhancement of higher education. She held the position of Head of Quality Assurance Department for more than seven years. During her work in HEIs, she was an active member in many committees related to academic programmes development and maintenance of academic standards such as Study Plans and Curricula Committee, Teaching and Learning Enhancement Committee, Scientific Research Committee, Professional Development Committee, Institutional Accreditation Standards Committee and the chair of the Quality Assurance Central Committee. Her contribution extended to lay the foundation of new academic programmes where she contributed significantly in developing and reviewing academic modules, curricula and programmes. In addition to that, she conducted and participated in organising seminars and workshops to promote and reinforce quality assurance in higher education and ensure the development, implementation, and instillation of academic and institutional quality standards. Moreover, she co-authored papers related to IT, quality assurance in higher education and pedagogy in peer reviewed media.

Ms AlAttili is also an external reviewer with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation to evaluate newly-proposed academic programs in the field of IT (2013), a former member of the Board of Directors of Oman Association for Quality in Higher Education (Dec 2017- Mar 2022) and an external reviewer with Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) for Institutional Accreditation, General Foundation Program (2014) and Oman Qualification Framework. Furthermore, she was a member of the OAAAQA Consultative Committee for the Revision of Institutional Standards Project since 2011. She also participated in giving the feedback to the GFP Quality Audit Manual, Programme Accreditation and Oman Qualification Framework.
