Linda du Plessis

Linda is the Vice-Principal and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Planning and Campus Operations at the North-West University (NWU) in South Africa. Her career started off as a programmer and a systems analyst in industry, then moved to higher education where she has served in various roles.  Positions include that of lecturer, researcher, Director of Academic Development and Support, Senior Director: Institutional Planning, Vice-Rector: Academic, Quality and Planning and since 2017 the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Linda has been in higher education for 29 years of which 18 years were devoted to management. Linda has a Doctoral degree in Education as well as a Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Bath, UK. Her current role involves providing strategic leadership and direction from an institutional perspective. The executive function should steer the success model to deliver and give effect to the institutional strategy, considering the global trends, strategic priorities, multi-campus nature and national imperatives.
