Amirah Bahaaudeen is an
Assistant Professor specialized in Management Information Systems at the
University of Business and technology, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Amirah has a MSc in
Computer Based Information Systems from Sunderland University and DBA in
Business Intelligence from Grenoble Ecole de Management. She has more than 10
years of teaching experience in teaching MIS courses and designing MIS
curriculum. Moreover, she is an Oracle Certified Professional Database
Administrator which enabled her to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge
and the market demands in the Saudi business environment by designing and implementing
practical lab curriculum using advanced technology
such as ORACLE database, SAS Visual
Analytics and SAP products. The theme of Business Intelligence
and Decision Support Systems is pervasive not only in her teaching, but in her
research as well. In particularly she is interested in Big Data and Data Mining
application in business as her doctorate thesis is about
the influence of data warehousing on improving decision
making quality.
Dr. Amirah have
held several administration positions; Director of Admission and Registration,
Director of Academic Affairs, Vice Dean of Student Affairs, and Dean's
Assistant of Graduate Studies. In addition, she has been a member in committees
that evaluate students’ graduation projects. She has worked as system analyst on the project team
responsible for designing and
developing decision
support reports that were required by the quality and accreditation committee of the university of Business and technology.
She was a member of the learning and teaching
committee designated to obtain
the accreditation from
the National Committee for Academic Accreditation and
Assessment.
