Bodhibrata Nag is a Professor of Operations Management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta. He has held the position of Acting Director, Dean (Academic), Provost & Chairperson of Student Affairs, Chairperson of Doctoral Programs and Research, National Coordinator for Post Graduate Program for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing at IIM Calcutta, as well as Director of IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. He has authored two books "Optimal Design of Timetables for Large Railways" and "Business Applications of Operations Research" and co-authored the Special Indian Edition of Hillier & Lieberman's classic textbook "Introduction to Operations Research", besides publishing in numerous national and international journals and conferences proceedings. He has also been a consultant to The World Bank, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Ministry of Railways, Planning Commission, West Bengal Department of Health & Family Welfare, and the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. He has been elected a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers(India) and a Senior Member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE, USA). His primary research interests are applying analytic techniques for planning, designing, and operations of energy and sustainable supply chain systems and cybersecurity. 

Bodhibrata Nag holds a Ph.D./Fellow degree in Operations Research and System Analysis from IIM Calcutta & Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras. He holds certifications in various areas of Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Data Sciences from The World Bank, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Georgia Institute of Technology, ESSEC Business School, University of Virginia, University of Amsterdam, John Hopkins University, Delft University of Technology and Technical University of Munich. He has received training in the case methods of teaching and case development at Harvard Business School and power projects design at Electricite de France. He has 21 years of transportation and energy industry experience and 18 years of teaching and research experience at IIM Calcutta. He has served in the Central Electricity Authority and Indian Railways in senior management positions of various bodies, including the Director of Research Design and Standards Organization of the Ministry of Railways. He was instrumental in starting IIM Calcutta's One-year Visionary Leadership for Manufacturing program (which is now running its fifteenth year) and the One-year Advanced Program in Supply Chain for corporate executives (which is now running its tenth year), launching electives covering Operations Research Modeling, Quality Management, and Project Management, as well as developing management case studies in the Indian context about public sector companies such as Indian Railways, Delhi Metro, CPWD and Hindustan Petroleum for Harvard Business Publishing and IIM Calcutta Case Centre. He has been a visiting Professor at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA) and BNSF Railway (Dallas, Texas, USA) on the Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Fellowship. He topped the University and Union Public Service Commission’s Engineering Services Examination, besides securing a very high rank in the IIT Joint Entrance Examination. He has also been awarded the "The Union Ministry of Energy-Department of Power" Gold Medal for the best paper published on Power Development and Utilization at the 29th Indian Engineering Congress, as well as the First Position in the Triple Connection Global Educator Challenge conducted by Inchainge, The Netherlands in 2023.
