Dr Christian Schott is an Associate Professor of Sustainable Tourism Management at Wellington School of Business and Government, Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington in Aotearoa New Zealand. His research interests include the impacts of tourism, climate change, education for sustainability, VR and education, and youth mobility. Christian is the Chair of the Principles of Responsible Management Education Steering Committee at WSBG and leads a trans-disciplinary project harnessing virtual reality technology to foster experiential education about sustainability and climate change, which was awarded the Gold Award in the Sustainability Category at the prestigious QS-Wharton 2020 Reimagine Education Awards. Christian has been invited to speak at the New Zealand Parliament about Sustainable and Regenerative Tourism, published extensively in high impact journals, serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Tourism Futures and Frontiers in Sustainable Tourism, and received the ‘Research Article of the Year 2018 Award’ in the highly ranked journal Tourism Recreation Research with Sochea Nhem for their article on Community-based Tourism. Christian was recently awarded a 2022 Te Whatu Kairangi | Aotearoa New Zealand National Tertiary Educator Award.
