Doctor in Educational Sciences, master’s degree in Social Studies, Psychologist, and a research Associate Professor at Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina. For more than 20 years I have been working with communities and organizational groups through experiential education. In Higher Education since 2016 I have been implementing active teaching methodologies in methodological and investigative subjects in psychology. In 2020 I obtained recognition from the Colombian Ministry of Education as a Teacher of the transformation of education mediated with digital technologies. I won the Turnitin Americas Higher Ed Awards in 2021, and other of my projects on active teaching methodologies was accepted in the first evaluation at the QS Reimagine Education Awards & Conference in 2020. I've been QS judge since 2023.
Since my undergraduate training I have had an interest in research, I have excelled in participating in study groups, research groups, as a monitor of methodological and measurement subjects, obtaining not only scholarships but also academic recognition and an honor mention for academic excellence, my degree work (entrepreneurship option) was focused on a counter-day educational proposal for primary school. During my working life as an independent consultant, I participated in outsourced consultancy for the public and private sector, developing and executing social and educational intervention projects. In my postgraduate master's degree, I focused on the development, analysis, and management of social intervention projects, which led me to carry out a graduate internship with the University of Minnesota as a research assistant for the project Recovering Public Space: Violence, Migration and Informal Vending in Bogota, Colombia, under the supervision of Dr. Lorena Muñoz. As a result of this research, I developed my degree work on the Analysis of the social intervention strategy for the relocation of street vendors in kiosks of the public network for the provision of services to users of public space -REDEP in Chapinero, Bogota. On my experience in higher education, I have not only been in charge of research and measurement subjects, but I have also participated in the curricular committees of the Psychology program, developing the Master Document and the Educational Plan of the Program, as well as in the consultancy for the for the renewal of the program's registry and the high quality accreditation of undergraduate programs, the leadership of a research group and the tutoring of multiple research projects aimed at obtaining a degree at undergraduate level. In occasion of the experiences built during these years with the students I’ve accompanied, I have participated in various events and in exercises of systematization of teaching experiences.
In 2020 I obtained recognition from the Colombian Ministry of Education as a teacher who promotes the transformation of education mediated with digital technologies for the year 2021 one of my projects on active teaching methodologies, I was awarded the title of "Teacher of the transformation of education mediated with digital technologies". Other of my projects on active teaching methodologies was accepted in the first evaluation at the QS Reimagine Education Awards & Conference, and an educational experience has won the Turnitin Americas Higher Ed Awards in 2021.
Likewise, my doctoral thesis deals with the design of a course based on active teaching methodologies for 7 methodological and investigative subjects, how this type of design generates learning scenarios of higher value in comparison with traditional methodologies, and how it encourages students' motivation and interest in research. I have been invited to conduct research training sessions for research both in my university and in other institutions in Colombia.
