I graduated as an engineer but I later discovered an innate call to be an educator with a passion for transformative learning. In education, transformation is no less important than information. From my research and practice I have found that project-based learning is an ideal vehicle for achieving the goals of transformative learning.
I have been an educator for over two decades but initially started out as an engineer. I studied engineering because in my country back then, tertiary education opportunities were hard to come by. When I gained acceptance into a university in a neighboring country for engineering, I seized it. I must say that I stumbled into education quite by chance several years later. However, after trying it out I found education to be the perfect fit for me and I have been at it ever since.
As they say, learning never ends. Hence, I constantly seek to grow in my knowledge and refine my methods through hands-on practice on my students, occasionally sharing my findings through publications. I was fortunate that my recent work was recognized by the QS-Wharton Reimagine Education Awards 2022 winning the gold medal for Science of Learning for my university.
