Dr Farhana Diana Deris is the Assistant Dean (External and Global Engagement) for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Previously, she was the Manager of International Alliances for the Global Strategy and Engagement unit at the office of UTM International. Her administrative roles included, among others, the coordination of the university’s participation in alliances. She also held executive roles for a number of alliances including as the Coordinator for the Asia Technological University Network, Secretary for the ASEAN Learning Network, and being the university’s Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator, and SATU Presidents Forum institutional coordinator. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Linguistics Association of Korea, and of the Editorial Board of the Society of Teaching English through Media based in Korea, and a member and expert resource for the Qualitative Research Association of Malaysia (QRAM), the Indonesia-Malaysia Research Consortium (I’MRC).
