Francis N. Reginio is a faculty member at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP)– Obrero, Davao City, holding key positions as the Director of the Institute of Languages and Creative Arts, former Deputy Director for Publications and Extension Head of the College of Arts and Sciences. With a Master of Public Administration degree specializing in Public Policy and Program Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, he focuses on policy analysis and human capital development, addressing critical social issues such as poverty, inequality, displacement due to disasters, violence, and armed conflict. He actively engages in grassroots research and extension work, focusing on indigenous peoples and shelter beneficiaries in Mindanao. He has been instrumental in driving initiatives like the AGAK Program, the Women Development Code, and the Shelter Code of Davao City. Moreover, he advocates for peace in Mindanao and actively participates in government-funded research and extension projects. Currently, he is one of the study leaders for the ongoing research project titled Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (IKSP) on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management of Selected IP Groups in the Davao Region, in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education-Indigenous Knowledge System and Cultural Management (CHED-IKSCM). His dedication to research extends to IKSP Phase 3, which aims to empower indigenous communities through knowledge dissemination and sustainable practices. Notably, he is at the forefront of Pangandoy: A Community-Based Education Approach for the Bagobo-Tagabawa Indigenous People in Davao del Sur, showcasing his commitment to education and social development in marginalized communities. With dedication, expertise, and a heart for positive change, he continues to make significant contributions to academic and community development, impacting Mindanao's journey toward a brighter future.
