Jan Owen AM Hon DLitt

 

Social Entrepreneur, Founder, Facilitator, Strategist, MC. Also known as the ‘Hustler for Good’  

 

is a thought leader, entrepreneur, keynote speaker and author in education and modern work, social innovation and health and wellbeing. A liberating force for change, Jan unlocks new thinking and connections between people, disciplines, sectors and domains. She is a founder of numerous start-ups and a leader in a range of national and global organisations and alliances to achieve purposeful, courageous and imaginative social change

Jan Owen AM Hon DLitt is currently the Founder & Principal of AdaptabilityQ which provides strategy, systems change and leadership support to CEO’s in a diverse range of organisations. She serves as Co-Chair, Learning Creates Australia; Co-Convenor, Foyer Foundation FoyerInvest Consortium; Chair, Cool Australia; Director of Save the Children Impact Fund; Innovation Unit Australia & New Zealand and Global Village Schools.

 

Jan has spent decades building and convening multi-sector alliances; campaigns and advocacy on the rights of children and young people around the globe; leadership on the future of education, work and entrepreneurship; and facilitating community, business, government and philanthropic investment and partnerships.

 

Prior executive leadership roles include Chief Executive, Foundation for Young Australians including the establishment of YLab; Executive Director, Social Ventures Australia including the establishment of the School for Social Entrepreneurs in Australia; and Founder & CEO, the CREATE Foundation. 

 

Her latest entrepreneurial venture as co-founder of Be Well Health & Longevity fulfils a lifelong passion and interest in health, longevity and wellbeing.

 

Jan was named one of Australia's True Leaders in 2018; the Inaugural Australian Financial Review and Westpac Woman of Influence in 2012; and membership to the Order of Australia in 2000.

 

Jan has been awarded two honorary Doctorates from the University of Sydney and Murdoch University in Perth, is host of the New Work Bites podcast and author of Every Childhood Lasts a Lifetime (1996) and The Future Chasers (2014).
