Jephthah combines his expertise in education with his passion for sustainability, driving initiatives that promote environmental consciousness and community development.

As a survivor of flood and seeing firsthand the effects of climate change and environmental degradation. I founded Jed Recycling Initiative which is a youth led social enterprise that is focused on increasing awareness about plastic pollution and encouraging the adoption of the 4R’s, reduce reuse, recycle, through our program which include environmental education, up-cycling and recycling training and community service. We have raised over $6000 through donations and grants from The Pollination Project and Sustainable Ocean Alliance to lead projects which has impacted over 2000 people. I carried out training session, and workshops which involve youth, community heads, organization heads and environmentalists and coordinated activities of 20 team members to ensure the implementation of the project milestones.Furthermore, my work and engagements with several communities across Nigeria fuels my desire to join Sustainable Ocean Alliance which is the worlds largest network of young ocean leaders who are working to solve the greatest threat facing our planet. Through the ocean leadership program I was awarded a microgrant of $1000 to execute and scale a local solution project focused on environmental pollution reduction. I created a solution that uses art and creativity to drive climate action which involves developing young students into sustainability actors using art to drive their interest. My solution has impacted over 2000 students and has given them the requisite climate education and environmental sustainability knowledge that qualifies them as growing actors in the sustainability space. Interestingly, this solution was one of the 222 impact global solution of the sustainable ocean alliance.
