I am a leader with a recognised professional reputation in a career in international higher education spanning over thirty years. I have led, managed and grown the largest entity (Deakin College) of Navitas Ltd over a period of two decades.

I am currently Director of John R Duncan and Associates, an International Higher Education Consultancy that provides an advisory service on international education strategies, institutional positioning and policy advice to public and private sector leaders.

My career has encompassed a broad range of senior executive roles including General Manager of Victoria and New Zealand at Navitas, College Director and Principal of Deakin College, and Director of Marketing and Business Development.

Prior to this, I held senior positions at Monash University including Faculty General Manager, Director of the Monash University Foundation Year, and Director of Marketing and Business Development for Monash International.

I am a graduate in Economics and have a Master’s in Education from Monash University. My Doctorate from Monash remains relevant to the education sector and was titled ‘The Corporatisation of Higher Education in Australia’ and is the only one of its kind completed in Australia.

I have participated on Boards throughout my career in Australia, Indonesia and New Zealand, and am a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. I have also completed the ‘Company Directors Course’ offered through the AICD.
