Prof. John Zvereff has dedicated his professional career to the higher education and cultural/arts sectors.
A staunch proponent of internationalization in higher education, Prof. Zvereff served as the University of Andorra Rector’s Delegate for Internationalisation (Sant Julià, Andorra; March 2017 - May 2024), Secretary General of the Network of Universities of Small Countries and Territories (NUSCT; 2018 - 2023), and Rector’s Delegate for Internationalisation at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain; 2008 - 2016). Additionally, Prof. Zvereff was an Assistant Professor of Italian at Rutgers University (New Brunswick, USA) and served as an ESL instructor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and in Tangier, Morocco.
Prior to his extensive involvement in higher education, Prof. Zvereff held several prominent positions in the cultural sector. These include Secretary General of the International Council of Museums (ICOM; Paris, France), CEO of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA; Barcelona), Executive Director of the Institute of North American Studies (IEN; Barcelona), and Director of the American Language Center (Tangier). He was also the first Director of the American Legation Museum of Tangier.
Prof. Zvereff holds a BS in Languages and Linguistics from Georgetown University and pursued graduate studies towards a PhD in Italian Literature at Rutgers University.
Currently, John Zvereff serves as an independent consultant specializing in internationalization in higher education and cultural projects.
