Dr. Jorge
Membrillo Hernández obtained his PhD from King's College, University of London,
UK, and completed postdoctoral stays at Sheffield, UK, and Harvard, USA. He is a
Full-Time Researcher at the Institute for the Future of Education and the
Department of Bioengineering at the School of Engineering and Sciences of the
Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus. He has published 116 indexed
scientific research articles, edited four books, written 16 chapters on
Educational Innovation, and has more than 2,000 citations. He has specialized
in educational topics, particularly Challenge-Based Learning, and the TEC 21
model. He is currently the President of the International Society for
Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) in its Mexico chapter. He has participated in more
than 80 conferences on Education. Dr. Membrillo-Hernández has implemented
innovative teaching strategies such as Global Classroom with Universities in
Argentina, Colombia, Spain, and Canada. He has also developed augmented reality
strategies for her classes and has conducted multiple investigations on
socially oriented education. He belongs to the SNI (National Researchers System)
and the circle of distinguished professors of the Tecnologico de Monterrey.
