Prof. Dr. Khaled Galal Ahmed is Professor and Coordinator of Architectural Engineering Master and PhD Programs at the Architectural Engineering Department, College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University.
Prof. Dr. Khaled Galal Ahmed is Professor and Coordinator of Architectural Engineering Master and PhD Programs at the Architectural Engineering Department, College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University. Prof. Khaled got his PhD from Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, UK. He worked as an architect and urban designer in Egypt and the Arabian Gulf region for several years. His research interest is in the fields of Sustainable and Resilient Urbanism, Urban Modeling Simulation, and Urban Morphology Analysis. He published his research in international journals, conferences proceedings, edited books and book chapters. Prof. Khaled teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to architectural and urban design. He has supervised several Master theses and PhD Dissertations. Prof. Khaled has also several articles and interviews in local and regional media including National Geographic Arabia, Al Fujairah TV, Al Bayan newspaper, etc. He has been honored for his contributions by the Minister of Happiness and Wellbeing, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, Al Ain Municipality, Fujairah Municipality, Directorate of Planning and Survey in Sharjah, etc. Prof. Khaled won the UAEU Chancellor’s Innovation Award in Education in 2020-2021 Academic Year. He also won the College of Engineering Excellence Award in Services in 2020-2021 Academic Year. In the 2022-2023 Academic Year he won both the UAE University Excellence Award and the College of Engineering Excellence Award in Teaching. Prof. Khaled and his team of UAEU students won Sharjah Sustainability Award twice in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 Cycles.
