Ki Sum Samson is an interdisciplinary medical humanities educator accredited in the U.K (BA, MSocSc Gerontology, FAcadMEd,FHEA). For over a decade he has specialized in pedagogical innovation and curriculum development for the inagurual cohorts of medical humanities curriculum at HKUMed. A highlight of his work was having initiated teacings of awareness of ageism in healthcare during  the COVID pandemic. For this project, Samson was a recipient of Young Scholar Merit Award at NUS's Asia Pacific Medical Education Conferencde 2022, and an Award Finalist (Nurturing Values and Ethics Category) at QS Reimagine Education Awards in 2023. 

In recent years, Samson has also supported multiple professional bodies in higher education: Currently, he is a Peer Assessor at Academy of Medical Educators (U.K.), a Mentor/Reviewer in HKU Advance HE Fellowship Scheme, a Mentor in HKU Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) programme, and a Judge at QS Reimagine Education Awards 2024.
