Leonie has been an educator for 43 years and currently lectures at Curtin University in Scientific inquiry and Digital Citizenship. She has developed multiple online resources  for students and educators including Studyvibe, The Research Safari, The UNSDG Project , The  Knowledge Compass and Come Dive with Me. She also co-authored the book Teaching 21st Century Skills Using STEM Makerspaces. and has a Come Dive with Me book series for middle school students that explores the marine ecosystem.
