Maybel Fernandez-Vallado

Dr. Maybel was born in Quezon City, Philippines. She now lives in Dubai, UAE with her husband. She earned her PhD and Bachelor degrees in Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She finished her Master's degree in English as a Second Language from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV). She was an Assistant Professor in UPV from 1995-2010, and as Senior Lecturer from 2020-2023. She was a Lecturer in Gulf College, Sultanate of Oman (in affiliation with Staffordshire University) from 2008-2012. She is currently a Consultant, Editor, and Freelance Writer, as well as author of several book chapters and journal article.
Maybel is the daughter of Prof. Pepito M. Fernandez (+), former Vice-Chancellor for Administration, University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) and former Dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-UPV). She lived in the University of the Philippines Campuses in Diliman and Miagao, where biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources are encouraged and protected. She loves to crochet, read books, write poetry and prose, and share God's love to others through her writing. She is a lifelong learner and a teacher, with a passion for life. Jesus is Lord over her life.
