Research Interests: Turduyev’s research focuses on photonics, including graded index photonic crystals, bio-inspired photonics design, nano-photonic wires, and transformation optics. His work extensively covers sub-wavelength structures, Airy and Bessel beam generations, one-way light propagation, PT-symmetry photonic structures, surface modes biosensors, and photonic crystal waveguides and resonators for chemical sensors and lab-on-a-chip applications.

Mirbek Turduev is a professor at the department of electrical and electronics engineering, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. His research focuses on photonic designs for efficient light manipulation, beam steering, beam splitting, wavelength de-multiplexing, light focusing, higher order mode converging, limited diffraction beam generation and asymmetric light transmission, slow light, graded index optics, photonic integrated circuits, optical and biochemical sensors. He has authored over 50 peer reviewed scientific papers in prestigious high-impact journals. He has given and contributed presentations of over 50 conference abstracts and proceedings.
Dr. Turduev has worked in various scientific projects supported by European Union 6th Framework program, TÜBİTAK and NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme as an expert researcher. He had been with the TED University, Ankara as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, between 09/2015-04/2022. Now he is continuing his research and educational activities in Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
