Dr Omkar earned his Ph.D. in Business from the Curtin Business School at Curtin University. Dr Omkar is recognized as a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) accredited by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), UK. Additionally, he is a certified trainer approved by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDF), Malaysia. Dr Omkar's professional repertoire also encompasses various professional certifications including six-sigma green belt.

His research focal points primarily revolve around technological influence on businesses and digital consumer behaviour. His published works feature in A-ranked journals including Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Marketing Intelligence and Planning among others. His research endeavours have been bolstered by a grant project totalling MYR 157,549. His contributions have been acknowledged through Best Paper Awards at the ASCENT 2017 and 2018 International Conferences supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia. Engaging actively in editorial and review endeavours, Dr Omkar assumes the role of Editor for the Arab Gulf Journal of Scientific Research (Emerald, Scopus, WoS). Furthermore, he serves as a Reviewer for several SSCI/SCIE/ESCI, and Scopus-indexed journals.

Dr Omkar's previous role encompassed the Head of Program (MBAs) at a leading private university (ranked top 1% globally). Prior to this, he assumed the position of Head - Centre for Postgraduate Studies at a reputable private higher education institution (offering UK franchisee programs (bachelor's and master's) in Malaysia and Singapore), overseeing academic, administrative, strategic, and business development leadership. Preceding his tenure in academia, Dr Omkar served in a managerial capacity focusing on service operations within India's largest private-sector commercial bank. Dr Omkar highlights marketing pathway in his teachings. His educational visits include several institutes in the ASEAN region, such as Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and India.
