Dr. Gera is the Professor and Dean of the School of Management, School of Economics and Commerce, and School of Liberal Studies at CMR University, Bangalore. He has previously held positions such as Director of Research at Woxsen University, Dean of the School of Management at K R Mangalam University, and Professor and Head of the Department of Management and Commerce at Manav Rachna University, Director Research at MRIIRS Deemed University,  Professor and PG Program Co ordinator , IMT Ghaziabad.

Dr. Gera has received several accolades for his contributions. He was an Associate Fellow at the Euro Med Academy of Business (2013-2014) and secured third place in the Aditya Birla Centre case competition at London Business School in 2010. His research paper on service quality and customer behavior in the life insurance sector in India was recognized as the outstanding business and management article for 2017 by IGI Global.

Dr. Gera's expertise is well-documented. With over 70 international and national indexed publications and three co-authored edited books, Dr. Gera's expertise is well-documented. His cases are published by prestigious institutions like the Richard Ivey Business School, Harvard Business School Publishing, and London Business School. He has served as visiting faculty at the “Centre for Marketing,” Asian Minor Studies, Fontys University, Netherlands, and ISS KIMEP, Kazakhstan, under the Erasmus Mundus scholarship program.

In his academic and administrative leadership roles across various institutions in India and abroad, Dr. Gera has significantly contributed to institution building, perspective planning, national and international linkages, faculty selection and development, academic quality control, and accreditation processes.
