Prof. Santosh Kumar Ray is the Director of Institutional Research and Quality Assurance at Liwa College. As the Professor of the Faculty of IT, he coordinates the development of the curriculum with the department head and professors, ensures that administrative policies are followed by all faculty members, and plans for the academic and financial growth of the Faculty of IT. As the Director of Institutional Research and Quality Assurance, he oversees the relicensing of the college, accreditation of new and existing academic programs, ensuring compliance with the guidelines of regulatory bodies and international accreditation bodies, providing institutional data and statistics to regulatory bodies, and other critical activities.
Prof. Santosh Kumar Ray is an accomplished academic leader with over 21 years of experience in international higher education. With a passion for participative leadership and a dedication to excellence, Prof. Ray has been a driving force behind the success of various educational institutions and programs. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering (Computer Science) from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, and a Master’s degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
Prof. Ray’s academic journey has been marked by impactful contributions in teaching, research, and administration. He has conducted research in areas such as information retrieval, natural language processing, social media analysis, and educational data mining. Throughout his career, Prof. Ray has published extensively, with his work featured in reputable international journals and conferences.
His administrative roles have been equally impressive. Prof. Ray’s tenure as the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and his subsequent appointments as Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs and Acting President at various institutions in the UAE reflect his exceptional leadership capabilities. He has overseen successful accreditation processes for multiple academic programs and institutional reauthorization efforts. As a proactive strategist, Prof. Ray has been instrumental in formulating and executing strategies for improved financial sustainability, enhanced student employability, and elevated institutional rankings.
Prof. Ray’s commitment to fostering research and innovation is evident in his role as Head of Research. Under his guidance, research initiatives have flourished, and the institution’s research output has substantially increased. His involvement in various committees and boards showcases his dedication to institutional growth and development.
