Suman Armitage has been in the role Director of Brand, Strategic Partnership & Initiatives within the Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE) unit at the University of Waterloo since 2018. Suman’s primary focus is leading strategic planning, developing industry partnerships and contributing to building reputation and innovation. In 2024, Suman is leading the AI transformation initiative within her unit.


Prior to this role, for 10 years, Suman led the Co-operative Education Communications and Marketing team with shared accountability for new employer development. Before joining the university in 2009, Suman had considerable experience in marketing and communications specifically in the e-learning, software development, financial services, pharmaceuticals and oil and gas industry sectors.


She has an MSc in Adult Education and in September 2024, Suman will resume her doctorate in Work and Health in the Faculty of Health at the University of Waterloo.
