Dr. Suresh Ponnan, Professor and Dean has over 17 years of distinguished experience in teaching, research, and industry from renowned institutions and sectors. He completed Doctorate in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering from Anna University in the year 2014, Master of Engineering in Embedded System Technologies from Anna University of Technology in the year 2010 and Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Anna University in the year 2006. Under his mentorship, 11 Ph.D. candidates have successfully completed their degrees, while 8 others are currently pursuing their research, both part-time and full-time. Additionally, he has supervised 21 Master's projects and 25 Bachelor's projects across various disciplines.

Dr. Suresh Ponnan expertise spans a broad array of cutting-edge fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, Embedded Systems, Reconfigurable Computing, Silicon Photonics, System on Chip, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He has contributed over 100 peer-reviewed international journal articles published in prestigious outlets such as IEEE, Elsevier, Inderscience, Springer, Optical Society of America, IOP-Journal of Optics, WSEAS, Photonics Journals, MDPI, and Hindawi. His scholarly work has garnered significant recognition, reflected in 2214 citations on Google Scholar, with an h-index of 24 and an i10-index of 63. Notably, four of his journal articles have been ranked among the top 10 in the field of Photonics since their publication in 2012.

Dr. Suresh Ponnan has presented over 50 papers at esteemed international and national conferences hosted by institutions like IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IRDE (DRDO) Dehradun, IIT Madras, Anna University, etc,. He has also played a pivotal role in organizing international and national conferences, symposiums, workshops, and meetings. He is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Vehicle Autonomous System, Inderscience Publishers. As an editor, he has contributed to various publishers, editing three books and currently working on three more with Springer, CRC Press (Taylor and Francis), and IGI Global. He has published seven book chapters and is editing three special issues in SCI/ESCI journals. His thought leadership is further demonstrated through numerous keynote addresses and special lectures delivered at international and national conferences and seminars.
