an exceptional teaching and learning experience for students, faculty and instructors. This involves developing new programs that are current, relevant, and meaningful for students and supporting and recognizing innovation in teaching and learning. I believe that creativity is at the heart of innovation. Resiliency, accountability and integrity are leading values that guide me. My focus is giving students a great academic experience and developing the university to be an inclusive and welcoming centre of excellence for all. As a scholar of early modern European music, my research addresses questions of musical and cultural networks, translation and reception, music technology, and the broader intellectual and artistic frameworks in which music flourished in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. I've written four books on music printing, Italian madrigals, the composer Claudio Monteverdi, and a textbook on Baroque music (all with Routledge Press).
