Thomas F. Connolly is University Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences and a Senior Fellow of the Center for Futuristic Studies at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University. He is the author of three books of cultural history: Genus Envy: Nationalities, Identities and the Performing Body of Work. Cambria Press, (2010). George Jean Nathan and the Making of Modern American Drama Criticism, (2000) Finalist for the 2001 George Freedley Prize of the Theatre Library Association, “given to the author of the most distinguished work of drama scholarship of the year.”) British Aisles: Studies in English and Irish Drama and Theatre from Medieval through Modern Times. Ostrava University Press, 1998 (sixth edition, 2023). His plays, “Two Women Off Color” and “Little Innocence” have been performed in Europe and the United States. He has been a consultant and commentator for The New York Times, The New Yorker, the BBC, PBS, and NPR, and a guest on numerous podcasts. A former Fulbright Senior Scholar, Dr. Connolly is the recipient of the Parliamentary Medal of the Czech Republic. His most recent book, Goodbye Good Ol’ USA. What America Lost in World War II: The Movies, The Home Front, and Postwar Culture is forthcoming from Houghton Mifflin/PMU Press.
