Biography
Sulait Tumwine is an Associate Professor of Managerial
Accounting and Associate Dean of faculty of Graduate Studies and research at the Makerere University School Business, Makerere University – Kampala,
Uganda. Prof. Tumwine has been in teaching and consultancy for over 18 years; he teaches and researches managerial accounting and behavioral
finance, financial institutions, firm performance, and their relation with
sustainability. Prof. Tumwine is interested in examining behavioral finance and
sustainable management, mainly how the finance, economic, costing, and
pricing aspects are linked and intertwined within the organizational
performance and sustainable perspective.
Prof. Tumwine has extensive academic publication
experience. He has published more than 15 papers in ABDC A* journals. His works have been published in leading journals in business and management, such as World Journal of Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development, the African Journal of Economic and Management Studies, the Journal of
Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Bank Research.
Prof. Tumwine has served on the Editorial
board of the International Journal of
Multidisciplinary Academic Research, and is also a regular reviewer for
major economic and management journals, including the International Journal of Emerging Markets, Makerere
University Business Journal.
Prof. Tumwine's research findings have generated
social impacts beyond academia, with his viewpoints appearing in independent
academic media outlets such as The New vision, mainstream media outlet in
Uganda.
Prof. Tumwine has successfully participated in major
research and consultancy projects to completion within private and public
domains, which is the business school`s Priority Research Initiative Project on
business sustainability. Prof. Tumwine has also been involved in international
collaborative research projects.
Prof. Tumwine has supervised more than 20
postgraduate students to completion. He welcomes applications from
prospective PhD students to work on research projects relevant to Behavioral
accounting, managerial finance and financial sustainability, etc.
