Valentina joined ESMT Berlin in 2004 and is currently the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Her department is responsible for faculty-related issues – such as faculty recruitment, development, and promotion as well as publications, grants, and research visitors – and is also in charge of coordinating relations with various accreditation bodies.

Valentina Werner has a MA in English Linguistics and German Literature from the Freie Univeristät Berlin as well as a diploma with honors in English and German language and Pedagogy from the St. Petersburg University.

She loves theatre and opera, plays and directs in an amateur theatre group in Berlin.
