Dr. Zainun Mustafa is a faculty member at the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, where she is involved in pre-service teacher training and research activities aimed at providing research-backed evidence in science education. She is the Emerging Scholar of The Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Research and Education in ASEAN/Southeast Asia (SHAPE-SEA) and Centre of Biodiversity and Conservation Fellow. Zainun also the recipient of the scholarship of United Nations Young Leaders Online Training Programme, Yayasan Khazanah ACE² Executive, the ASEAN Initiative Youth Empowerment Program (AYIEP) in 2023 and the SHAPE-SEA RGP Programme in Strengthening Human Rights and Peace research and Education in Southeast Asia in 2023. Before joining higher education, Dr. Zainun served as a specialist in an intergovernmental organization, focusing on in-service teacher training and research across Southeast Asia and the Global South. Her work in this capacity involved extensive collaborative research with various institutions and faculties, dedicated to enhancing teaching and learning practices at both national and regional levels. Dr. Zainun’s niche areas include science education, environmentalism through education, curriculum design, creative pedagogy, and teacher training. Her research contributions are notable, particularly in the areas of pro-environmental behaviour (SDG 12), Sustainable Development Goals in university-community partnerships (SDG 17), and Education for Sustainable Development (SDG 4).
