Grading and Simultaneously Providing High-information Feedback: The Harmonized Appraisal Assessment Methodology, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University

Project Summary
The Harmonized Appraisal (HAPP) assessment methodology transforms the assessment of semi-structured student work (e.g., papers, presentations) by harmonizing (i.e., integrating) feedback and grading into a single process. It employs a dual-rubric system: students receive a general rubric for guidance, while instructors use a more detailed version to evaluate specific facets of the work. Each rating level is tied to specific scores and feedback from a comment bank, allowing graders to assess each component just once to get both the grade scores and the feedback. This approach enhances efficiency and consistency for the grader, fairness and feedback quality for the student.

Redefining the power of partnership: Transforming healthcare through global interprofessional education, Bau Institute of Medical and Health Sciences Education, The University of Hong Kong

United by our shared philosophy of #TearingDownCompetitionForCollaboration, we formed a Global Interprofessional Education (gIPE), consisting of eight collaborating universities: University of Hong Kong, Tung Wah College, Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Education University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, University College London, and Queen Mary University of London. Together, we overcome competition and demonstrated collaboration cultivating a space where innovative solutions thrive. By synergistically merging our strengths and rising above competition, we forged transformative educational practices that impact humanity. As pioneers in gIPE, we demonstrate to the world that collaboration is the key to unlocking innovation.

University of Birmingham Capgemini Community Challenge (UoB CCC), Birmingham Business School, The University of Birmingham

Project Summary
The UoB CCC is a dynamic partnership between the University of Birmingham Business School and global technology firm Capgemini. It aims to equip undergraduate students with essential consultancy skills while simultaneously supporting local charities. The Challenge takes place over a week at Capgemini's world-renowned client-solutions facilities. Twenty-five students are selected via video application each year to work in five teams of five, with each team undertaking a brief for a different charity client. Billie Major, Chief Operations Officer of Capgemini UK, championed the Challenge, who meets and briefs all students at the beginning of the week and witnesses their solutions on the final day. Capgemini seeks to recruit directly from the Challenge, so it is offered to first- and second-year undergraduate students to facilitate time for this. The Challenge acts as a fast track for their summer internship and graduate recruitment programmes.
