Dr. Asiman Ilyasov is an accomplished higher education professional with extensive experience in quality assurance, academic leadership, and pedagogical development. He currently serves as Advisor to the Rector on Quality Assurance at Baku State University, where he also lectures in the Department of Economics.
He earned his PhD in Economics in 2025 with a dissertation on Quality Assurance Challenges in Preparing Students in Azerbaijani Higher Education Institutions for Labor Market Demands. He also holds dual master’s degrees through a joint program between Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and The George Washington University, specializing in Education Management and Education Policy & Leadership.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ilyasov has held senior roles at the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (TKTA) and Azerbaijan Technological University, where he led initiatives in academic quality management, human resource development, and faculty training. He has contributed as a project leader and expert in several international and national projects, including World Bank initiatives, Twinning projects on strengthening Azerbaijani higher education, and EU-funded quality assurance programs.
His research focuses on quality assurance, higher education policy, sustainable development, and labor market alignment, with 13 published articles in local and international journals. He is actively engaged in global academic networks, with profiles on Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, and ORCID.
Fluent in English, Turkish, and Azerbaijani, and proficient in research and analytical tools such as SPSS, Tableau, and Python, Dr. Ilyasov combines strong academic expertise with practical experience in education management. He is committed to advancing higher education reforms, fostering international collaboration, and promoting innovative teaching and learning practices.
