Dr. Chitra Singh is an Associate Professor at Western Michigan University with a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University, USA, and over a decade of university-level teaching experience. Her research explores the intersection of AI, technology, and education, particularly their roles in advancing pedagogy, assessment, and student engagement. She has a deep interest in improving student career readiness through the integration of digital tools and AI competencies into curriculum design. Her current projects include a collaborative study investigating the role of Generative AI in higher education, with a focus on its impact on student learning, motivation, and engagement, as well as its potential to align academic curricula with evolving industry needs, particularly in the retail sectors. She is currently working on a book that investigates the pedagogical potential of AI through the lens of science fiction. In addition, her scholarship explores age-friendly retail environments, ethical sourcing strategies, and the digital transformation and resilience of small businesses.

A recognized expert in her field, Dr. Singh serves on the Executive Board of the American Collegiate Retailing Association (ACRA) and is an editorial assistant for the International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management, a globally respected Q1-ranked journal published by Emerald. She has published extensively and presented her research at international conferences, sharing insights on the role of digital innovation and AI in enhancing student collaboration, engagement, and career preparation.
