Dr. Deepali Borthakur is a higher education strategist, academic leader, and multi-disciplinary scholar with over nine years of experience driving institutional transformation through global accreditation, pedagogy innovation, and research excellence. Currently serving as Head of International Rankings & Accreditations and Assistant Professor at Woxsen University’s School of Business , she has spearheaded strategic initiatives that have elevated Woxsen’s visibility in major global frameworks, including QS, THE, AACSB, NBA, Corporate Knights, and Bloomberg rankings.

Her academic journey spans across Dibrugarh University, Tezpur University, and KKHSOU, where she earned her PhD in English Literature, MPhil in Indian Writing in English, MA in English, and MSW in Community Development. With a strong grounding in the humanities, she has expanded her expertise into business ethics, sustainability, accreditation frameworks, and curriculum innovation, bridging liberal arts perspectives with management education.

Prior to joining Woxsen, Dr. Borthakur held leadership roles at Assam down town University, where as Associate Dean (Academics) and Assistant Director (IQAC), she forged over a dozen international collaborations, implemented NAAC Cycle II milestones, and led the university to a QS I-GAUGE Diamond rating. She has been instrumental in curriculum redesign, industry-academia partnerships, and advancing outcome-based education, mentoring over 200 faculty in quality frameworks.

Her scholarly contributions include authored books, edited volumes, and multiple book chapters, along with four published patents. She has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the QS I-GAUGE Diamond Rating, CEGR Best Private University in NE, and Limca Book of Records recognition for digital library innovation. A regular contributor to global forums including QS Reimagine Education Awards, QS India Summit, and THE Global Forums, she is also active in community engagement through the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative.
