Jelena’s research aims to improve teaching and learning in creative fields, with a focus on student engagement, creativity and inclusive practice. As a lecturer, she looks at how storytelling, illustration and future technologies like augmented reality may be used in design education to promote deeper learning and critical thinking. Her work delves into studio-based pedagogies that promote experimentation and personal expression while also educating students for the design industry’s dynamic and ever-changing nature.

Jelena Rukavina Vuckovic is a lecturer at School of Design Innovation, specialising in art theory, visual culture and drawing and painting practice. Jelena is a strong advocate for critical thinking and creative discovery.
