Ts. Dr. Chee Ken Nee is a distinguished educator and technologist with over 12 years of experience in the education sector. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Malaysia. Dr. Chee holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, earned in 2018. His academic journey is marked by a commitment to integrating technology into education to enhance learning experiences. Before his tenure at UPSI, Dr. Chee dedicated over a decade to teaching in high-performing secondary schools and served as an Assistant Director at the Educational Technology and Resources Division of the Malaysian Ministry of Education. His extensive experience in both classroom teaching and educational administration provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. Dr. Chee's research interests are centered around mobile learning, augmented and virtual reality, robotics in education, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and computer-based learning. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles indexed in ISI and Scopus, achieving an H-index of 7 with more than 400 citations. His work is widely recognized for its impact on modernizing educational practices. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Chee has received several prestigious awards, including the Global Teacher Award in 2020 and being named among the Top 30 Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts in Malaysia the same year. In 2024, he was honored with the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) Award for his innovative Virtual Reality Teaching Training (VIRTT) project, which utilizes VR technology to create immersive teacher training simulations. It also named as finalist in the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Awards under the Immersive Experience category for his groundbreaking Virtual Reality Teaching Training (VIRTT) project. This initiative leverages VR to create engaging, realistic teacher training simulations, revolutionizing professional development for educators. His recognition reflects his ongoing commitment to redefining teacher education through immersive and accessible digital tools. Beyond his academic and research endeavors, Dr. Chee is the founder and project leader of ArviaX, an initiative aimed at making education accessible to all through the development of affordable and inclusive educational technology tools. His philosophy, "Everyone can afford to learn," underscores his commitment to educational equity. Dr. Chee is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a registered Professional Technologist under the Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT). He actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for numerous ISI and Scopus-indexed journals and serves as a jury member for various national and international innovation competitions. His dedication to advancing educational technology continues to inspire educators and learners alike, positioning him as a leading figure in the intersection of technology and education.
