From mathematics applied to social sciences, to architecture and urbanism, my background and understanding of the territory and the society has always been through an interdisciplinary approach between science (focused on how data can explain reality) and creativity (how we can interpret reality through different way of thinking). In my commitment towards education and long life learning, I explore the way of how we can reach an hyper personalization of the Learning Process leveraging intelligent tools by connecting students, professors, investigators and community with knowledge and learning experiences.
Laurence Bertoux has led the Platforms Initiative since its launch in 2021 in the institution’s 2025 strategic plan, today Innovation and IA Lab. As an architect and doctor in urbanism, she has had a career that has taken her from France, to Mexico, with long stays in Chile and United States. Starting from an independent practice in architecture, she has been a public officer in urban planning, and since joining Tec de Monterrey ten years ago, she has held both teaching and academic leadership roles. Her interest have always developed around understanding the complex problems linked to the city from an interdisciplinary perspective in which scientific interpretations based on data intersect with philosophical perspective. Today, leading an R&D project, she promotes the development of experimental platforms, with the purpose of expanding the impact of the institution with new models of value creation; that trough the intelligent connection of learning platforms and resolution of challenges, that manage to connect the needs of the world with the legacy and purpose of people.
She is the proud mother of two children, Emiliano 25 and Antonia 17, who are raised in a multicultural environment, open to the world and diversity.
