
Ms Mmatsetshweu Ruby Motaung is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and education policy. Proven track record in policy development, program management, and stakeholder engagement. Recognized for initiating transformative projects and advocating for marginalized communities in the ECD sector. Recently awarded for outstanding contributions to empowerment and recognized as an influential figure in the ECD sector.
One of her noteworthy achievements include the development and gazetting of a policy on a professional qualification in Early Childhood Education (ECD) from birth to 4 years of age. This policy marks the first time in history of ECD in South Africa that a formal set of professional and post-professional qualifications from Birth to 4 years has been formulated as a national policy.
She has proven that resilience is purpose driven, having successfully steered her organisation through the severe and harsh effects on COVID, looting and the recent devasting floods. Demonstrating agility and innovative adaptability.
With over 30 years’ experience in the education sector, she continues to be a ‘Champion and Advocate for ECD’ through volunteering her services by serving in a number of boards and serving on different provincial but more national structures that are looking at transforming ECD.
She has delivered papers in different platforms and has been recognised with different awards nationally and internationally for her contribution in women development.
