Dr. Mohammed Abdel Razek is a Professor of Computer Science at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, a position he has held since 2015. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Montreal, Canada, in 2004, specializing in Artificial Intelligence under the supervision of Prof. Claude Frasson. His doctoral research, "Multi-Agent Approach towards Intelligent E-learning System", laid the foundation for his long-standing expertise in AI-driven Medicine and Education technologies.

Following his doctorate, Dr. Abdel Razek completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship with NSERC in Canada, where he developed an intelligent signing system for large-scale retail databases. This system leveraged AI algorithms to generate personalized marketing materials, significantly enhancing customer engagement.

His research spans a wide spectrum of AI applications, including medicine, cybersecurity, semantic web, social media, e-learning, e-commerce, and digital libraries, with over 90 publications in top-tier journals, conferences, and workshops. Since 2018, he has been a member of the QS World University Rankings evaluation team for the Imagine Education Award.

As an AI Consultant at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, Dr. Abdel Razek advises on integrating AI technologies into academic programs, research, and media production. Earlier, he founded the Information Systems and Networks Unit at Al-Azhar University, supporting 42 faculties and leading strategic projects such as a university-wide student categorization system and the e-University platform.

In 2007, he contributed to establishing 17 e-learning centers across Egyptian universities in collaboration with the National E-Learning Center (NELC). At the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), he was instrumental in drafting Egypt’s national e-learning standards.

From 2009 to 2019, he served as a Quality Assurance and Development Consultant at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Saudi Arabia. His leadership contributed to the university achieving NCAAA accreditation, winning the Excellence Award for Quality Assurance, and earning UNIQUe Certification from the European Foundation for Quality in e-Learning (EFQUEL). At KAU, he spearheaded strategic projects including mobile learning systems and multimedia e-books.

Dr. Abdel Razek’s career reflects a rare blend of academic innovation, strategic institutional development, and pioneering contributions to AI applications across education, research, and industry.
