Payam Azeez is a curriculum developer at the Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with extensive experience in TESOL, TEFL, and ESP across international schools, institutions, and universities. She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics with a focus on technology-integrated language teaching and is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Linguistics.

She is the first and pioneering figure to design a comprehensive English curriculum aligned with the local context of the Kurdistan Region, tailored to the evolving demands of the modern job market. This negotiated syllabus was developed collaboratively with students, teachers, policymakers, stakeholders, and academic experts—marking a transformative step in educational reform in the age of AI for the region.
