Rhoda Basco-Galangco is a Licensed Professional Teacher
(LPT) with a specialization in History, a master’s degree in Education with a
major in Administration and Supervision, and a PhD in Education, all obtained
from Saint Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines. Her first employment was
at the Cordillera Career Development College, where she worked for five years
as a college registrar and part-time faculty. Her longest tenure of 22 years
was at the University of Baguio, where she held various roles. She served as
Subject Head for Social Studies for six years, Program Chair for the Bachelor
of Secondary Education program for five years, Director of the Research and
Development Center for four years, and Director of the Quality Assurance Office
for one year. In 2019, she transferred to government service at the Mountain
Province State Polytechnic College, now Mountain Province State University. She
was designated as the program coordinator for the Master of Arts in Education,
the coordinator for social studies, the co-chair of the institutional research
committee, and the co-chair of the instructional materials development
committee. Currently, she is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Apart from her academic roles, she also served as Technical
Regional Adviser for the LEAPS Project of the University of the Philippines –
Assessment, Curriculum, and Technology Research Centre, and the Department of
Education from 2017 to 2018. She was awarded a Plaque of Recognition by the
Philippine National Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region for
her work with them in conducting surveys in 2018. Rhoda Galangco is a member of
several local and international professional organizations and occasionally serve
as resource speaker in their conferences and training. She is the Executive
Director-Education Division of the International Center for Education, Research,
and Training (ICERT) and sits in the Editorial Board of one of its journals.
