Professor Simon McIntyre is an educational innovator and academic leader specialising in the strategic integration of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance teaching, learning, and student success. As a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA), his work focuses on driving impactful educational practices that prioritise student wellbeing and academic achievement.

With nearly two decades of experience at UNSW Sydney, including key roles such as Director of Educational Innovation and Associate Dean Education at the School of Art & Design, Simon has led significant initiatives such as the Academic Success Monitor (ASM). This AI-driven tool provides personalised student support and has received global recognition, winning Gold awards at both the QS Reimagine Education and Gartner Eye on Innovation awards.

Simon's professional development resources—including MOOCs, open educational resources, and educational YouTube channels—have reached over 1.2 million learners worldwide, demonstrating his commitment to scalable, technology-enhanced learning.
