Darapu Srikanth Satish Kumar, an accomplished academician and civil engineer, is a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at GITAM School of Technology, GITAM Deemed to be University, Visakhapatnam. With a dynamic career spanning over 16 years, Srikanth is also a Certified Behavior and Mentoring Analyst (CBMA), CII-IGBC Accredited Faculty, and Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator (CMIE). His teaching portfolio encompasses Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources Engineering, Remote Sensing & GIS, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Universal Human Values.

Srikanth’s research interests lie in sustainable materials, alkali contamination mitigation in soils, and water resource management. Notably, his recent works address alkali-induced swelling behavior in red earth and the application of industrial by-products like Fly Ash and GGBS to mitigate it. Apart from academics, Srikanth has been instrumental in mentoring student chapters such as the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) organizing technical fests, seminars, and endowment lectures, and promoting green construction principles across student and community platforms.

Srikanth’s socially responsible outlook is evidenced by his active engagement in campaigns for water conservation, environmental sustainability, rural digital literacy, and girl child education. His contributions have been acknowledged through national recognitions such as the “Best IGBC Student Chapter Award” and the “Jathiya Yuva Seva Puraskaram.”

With a deep belief in holistic education, Srikanth balances academic vigor with values, promoting humanistic education while encouraging innovation and critical thinking among his students.
