Professor Dr Ahmad JAMMAL holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Claude Bernard University in France in 1986, and a certificate of eligibility to supervise scientific research (HDR) from the same university in 1994. He works currently as Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Office at the University College of Bahrain. He served as Director General of Higher Education in Lebanon from 2002 to 2019 and was responsible for the private higher education sector in Lebanon, where he spread the culture of quality in higher education and established regulatory frameworks for it and participated in developing many guidelines in the field of standards and indicators for quality assurance and accreditation for institutions. Higher education and programs. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education for several years, as well as the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council of the Association of Arab Universities. He held the position of Professor of Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and AC/DC Drives at Claude Bernard-Lyon University I in France from 1988 to 1996, then at the Lebanese University from 1996 to 2019. He has been a senior member of the IEEE since 1990. He supervised master’s and doctoral students in France and Lebanon. He published many research papers in international scientific journals and conferences. He is a reviewer in many international scientific journals in the field of electrical engineering and renewable energy. He also worked as consultant in higher education and has extensive experience in strategic planning, recognition of certificates, curriculum development, and the development of standards and indicators to ensure quality in higher education. He participated in writing guides in this field within Arab and European projects and participates as an external Reviewer in Europe.
