Dr Bright Oppong Afum is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Ghana. He is also a Professional Engineer, Chartered Professional and Consultant in mining and environmental studies. He obtained his doctorate’s degree in Natural Resources Engineering (Mining Engineering) from Canada; master’s degree in Environmental Monitoring and Analysis from the United Kingdom; and bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Ghana. He has over 15+ years of experience in surface mining, underground mining, small scale mining, academia, and research in Ghana, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland, and South Africa. He has served on several boards, committees, project teams, and presented several research articles in both surface and underground mining, environmental studies, education of professionals, and mathematical programming at several global conferences. He is very passionate about mining, environment, projects, education, and innovation research.
