Carrie Prior is the associate dean of the School of Technology at Excelsior University. As associate dean, she serves as part of the School’s leadership team to foster a culture of innovation and to build a sense of community with instructional faculty and students. Prior is responsible for the supervision and oversight of the school faculty, with specific focus on academic excellence and the curriculum.

Prior has served as a senior international officer in medium and large, public and private, higher education environment. She frequently presents and publishes on the topics of university strategic internationalization, globally focused academics, and collaborative online international learning (COIL) / virtual exchange.

Prior also serves on the Academic Advisory Board for The American Campus in Mauritius, and is an Affiliate and Director of Operations with the consulting firm Gateway International Group. She is also a 2019 Fulbright recipient and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Prior lives in Albany, NY.

Prior holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, with a study abroad experience in Samoa, a M.A. in International Education from the SIT Graduate Institute, and an Ed.D. in the Design of Learning Environments from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
