Prof. Cristobal N. Aguilar has developed more than 50 research projects, including several international research projects (ECOS-Nord and alpha network-EU and Marie Curie EU). He is a regular member of the Mexican Academy of Science (from 2014). He is also, Professor in the BioProcesses and BioProducts Research Group (BBG-DIA-FCQ/UAdeC). His scientific work focuses on the use and development of microbial and enzymatic technologies for the design of bioprocesses for Food / Fine-Chemistry / Pharmacy / Biotechnology / Environment. He is a Pharma/biologist chemist (1992, Autonomous University of Coahuila); Master in Food Science and Technology (1995, Autonomous University of Chihuahua): Doctor of Biotechnology (2000, Metropolitan Autonomous University); Postdoctoral Stay in Molecular Microbiology (2001. IRD-Marseille, France & CCRC-UGA, USA)
Prof. Cristobal N. Aguilar is director of Research and Posgraduate Programs at Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila (2018-2024), México. Before, he was Dean of the School of Chemistry (2014-2018) and Leader of the Food Research Dept at the same School. Prof. Aguilar is a member level III of S.N.I. (Mexican System of Researchers) from 1998, receiving several prizes and awards among which the most important are: National Prize of Research 2010 of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, the CCC Prize 2008 of the Mexican Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, National Prize AgroBio-2005 and the Mexican Price in Food Science and Technology. CONACYT-Coca Cola México 2003. 2018 Outstanding Researcher Award by the International Association of Bioprocessing. 2019 Coahuila-State Innovation, Science and Technology Award and 2022 Distinguished Scientist Award by the International Association of Bioprocessing.
