Edgar Omar López Caudana is a Member of the Institute for the Future of Education's Reasoning for Complexity IRG. He holds a PhD in Electronics and Communication with a specialization in Telecommunications from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, and a Master's degree in Electronic Systems from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is a professor-researcher at the School of Engineering and Sciences of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus, and is a Senior Researcher and member of the Product Innovation Research Group of the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (Level 1). His research interests are social robotics, signal processing, and educational innovation. In social robotics, his main works are assistive robots for education and health, mainly for children and the elderly. He has collaborated with researchers at the Faculty of Psychology at UNAM, Robert Gordon University, and several institutions such as the National Institute of Rehabilitation, the National Institute of Geriatrics, and the Fund for Aid to the Mentally Ill. He is the author of several academic publications. His Google Scholar citation level is h-14 and hi-18. He has recently been distinguished with the designation "Círculo de Profesores Distinguidos" of the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
