Ginger Baxter: Multi-dimensional educator, entrepreneur, career coach, quantitative risk modeler and business analytics community influencer, Ginger Baxter leads as the Assistant Dean of Graduate Career Advancement and Engagement at the University of Miami Herbert Business School in the Joseph and Carmen Unanue Career Center.

Ms. Baxter has a history of success connecting students and employers for career acceleration through experiential learning and professional development training, resulting in her winning the GradLeaders cup in its inaugural year. At Miami Herbert, in their first year Baxter’s team delivered 39 employer projects for student career acceleration, and she coached multiple teams to winning national and international case competitions, including a first place finish in the CFA Ethics Invitational, a regional and national win in the Professional Risk Managers International Association Challenge, and advancing to the finals in the National Black MBA case competition. Moreover, in partnership with faculty, she instructs the highly regarded MGT 697: Graduate Business Career Connect course. 

Prior to joining Miami Herbert, she served as the Sr. Director Career Services & Employer Relations for Emory University’s Goizueta Business School’s Top 10 ranked STEM credentialed MS in Business Analytics.   Ginger learned her craft while on senior leadership at the Institute for Insight for Georgia State University and leading the Robinson College of Business’ quantitative graduate programs.

She holds, both, a master of risk management and insurance with a specialization in mathematical risk management from Georgia State University and an MBA in marketing and finance from Emory University. A fan of data inspired decision making, Ms. Baxter earned the rank of black belt in Lean Six Sigma.  Ginger is an honors graduate in Economics from Sewanee: The University of the South. Additionally, she developed the in-person workshops and training materials to accompany the tech start-up software and platform Equities Lab for quantitative investing.  Most recently, Ginger served on the program development committee for Atlanta’s PowerMyLearning, on the Leadership Council for Data Science Connect, and on the Steering Committee of the Tiffany Circle of Metro Atlanta’s American Red Cross. With a passion for history, Ms. Baxter is an expert in world war two secret intelligence, which led to her invitation to attend the Congressional Gold Medal Award Ceremony honoring the men and women who served in the Office of Strategic Services.

Entrepreneurship and innovation are her hallmarks, having bought and sold two businesses and built two from the bottom up. One venture, MindBlaster, yields statistically significant results with improving the cognitive abilities of students ages 7-17. With this dynamic background, Ms. Baxter is a standout in the field of business education.
