İbrahim KAYA was born
in 1964 in Vezirköprü, Türkiye. He attended primary school in Vezirköprü and
İzmir, and secondary and high school in İzmir. He graduated from Ege University
Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Science in 1986, which he enrolled
in 1982. He was appointed as a Research Assistant to the same department in
March 1987. At Ege University, Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences,
Animal Science Department; he successfully completed his MSc study in 1989, in
which he examined the feeding of roughage to lambs by enriching with whey, and
his PhD study in 1996, in which he examined the persistency of lactation in
Holstein cows. He completed his military service in 1993. He was appointed as
Assistant Professor in July 2003. In April 2004, he received the title of
University Associate Professor in the Animal Husbandry and Breeding Science
Field, and then he was appointed as Associate Professor. He was appointed as
Professor in October 2020. On dairy cattle, he has 27 articles published in
domestic and foreign journals, 33 papers presented in national and
international meetings, and 1 book. The author, who still works in the same
department, is married and has a good command of English and a beginner's level
of German.
