Professor Lan Snell is the Dean of Programs (Postgraduate) at University of South Australia Business. She has extensive experience and knowledge of digital resources and designing innovative curriculum architecture in a university context. Lan’s 20 +years experience across industry and academia and success in delivering complex transformation, offers a unique set of skills in academic leadership.
Prior to joining UniSA, Lan was the Head of School and Dean at USQ where she led significant reform for the School to deliver consolidation and innovation through curriculum growth. At Macquarie Business School, Lan led the development of a ground-breaking stackable model to achieve scale, generating over AUD12 million revenue for the degree and over AUD10 million for the open courses. The Global MBA attracted 400+ students from 38 countries and ranked #1 in Australia and #6 globally for online MBAs (CEO Magazine); and #2 in Australia and Top 20 in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2021 for online MBAs. She delivered AMBA accreditation as part of her final deliverable before leaving Macquarie Business School.
Lan was shortlisted for her curriculum innovation in 2020 for the Wharton-QS Stars Reimagine Education Award for the “Best distributed program for nurturing 21st century skills”. She was invited to be an official judge for the Wharton-QS Reimagine Education Awards in 2021. Lan is an experienced board member and sought-after keynote presenter and thought leader on the new work order.
Lan’s publications include European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Services Theory and Practice, Applied Psychology, Health Marketing Services, and European Heart Journal. She holds a PhD in Services Marketing (University of Sydney), Master of Education (Macquarie University), Graduate Certificate in Research (Macquarie University), and Bachelor of Business (UTS).
